The Towson Junior Chamber of Commerce is in its 56th year of assisting the Greater Towson community. We help build a strong future for our members through leadership training, networking, and community involvement. Junior Chamber members, "Jaycees", work with the business community, other civic organizations, and the government to improve the quality of life in the Towson area. Membership in the Towson Junior Chamber provides Baltimore County with the leaders necessary to ensure its continued vitality and growth.
If you are interested in joining the Junior Chamber, please contact the membership vice-president. We always have a full calendar of upcoming social, outdoor, and community events planned, including some not listed on this website.
Upcoming and Recent Activities
April 12, 2008 (Saturday 7pm) - Shrimp Feast: Our 25th annual Shrimp Feast was better than ever. We enjoyed a wide variety of food and beverages. Live music was provided by Baltimore's premiere 80s cover band, Voodoo Economics. We also had games and raffles to benefit Pathfinders for Autism.
*Newsflash: Congrats to President T.J. for receiving the Governor's Citation for our having raised funds for Pathfinders for Autism at this year's Shrimp Feast. The award was presented before the crowd at the Pathfinders annual golf tournament. While our chapter tends to shy away from awards, we occasionally receive one that reminds us that we do actually make an impact in the community. Being recognized by the state and having the project supported by those in our community such as Judge Pat Stringer shows we are getting a positive word out. While T.J. gets the plaque, he acknowledges that the efforts of our members, alumni, and project chair, Christina Wakefield, made the event a reality. Nonetheless, we appreciate his efforts as well, so congrats.
May 3rd - 5th, 2008 (Friday thru Sunday) - Towsontown Spring Fest: We again ran the Beer Garden located by the Wachovia on West Chesapeake Ave. Our members and friends assisted with the "hard work" of operating beer trucks and being bartenders for a day. Thanks go to Beer Garden Chair Paul Ray.
May 15, 2008 (Thursday 6:00 to 8:30 pm) - Young Professionals Networking Night - Meet others who also love living or working in the Greater Towson area. There is no charge to attend, and our host will provide appetizer and drink specials! If you care to donate a book, we will be collecting them to benefit the Baltimore County Libraries. For more information please contact Membership VP Jeffrey Rogyom.
May 22, 2008 (Thursday 8pm) - General Membership Meeting: Come out a little early to socialize with your fellow Jaycees before we get down to business. Feel free to bring a friend so they can learn what being a Jaycee is all about. Each meeting is held at the Towson American Legion.
June 1, 2008 (Sunday) - O's Game against the Red Sox. It is a 1:35pm game. Contact Management VP,
Christina Wakefield if interested.
June 7, 2008 (Saturday 11:00 am) - Great Strides Walkathon: We are forming a team to walk in the Great Strides Walkathon benefiting Cystic Fibrosis. It's a one mile walk. If you are interested, please contact Individual Development VP, Levi Zeller.

Gates open at 5:45pm and we will make plans to travel as a group. Please contact our Membership VP, Jeff Rogyom, if interested or want additional information.
August (TBD) - Tubing Trip: Or, white-water rafting if we get enough brave souls. Please contact our Membership VP, Jeff Rogyom, if interested or want additional information.
In addition to the activities listed above, we have many other unscheduled events in which to participate.
